I spent $577.50 on gasoline last year. That's about $11 a week.

I also spent $1155 on groceries. That's about $22.20 a week.

I probably spent at least twice that much on gasoline and four times that much on groceries.

with my commute, I spend about $50 a week on gas based on current prices and ~$20 a week on tolls. I would sooo like an electric car! Hybrids don't count. They only help in local stop-and-go driving conditions. I'd covert my Element, but the Nickle-Hydide batteries are very expensive. Zinc-air is very promissing (Cheap, lightweight, long-range) but the recharging process is complex and beyond personal use right now.

My rail fare is £158.75 a month, so about $50 or so a week. I drive part of the way to work too, and I wouldn't be surprise if I'm paying almost as much as you for fuel.
