The roof is done. It took Cyn and I most of the day, but we got it done. We weren't exactly pushing hard, though. Cyn did a good job. She was up there on the roof with me. I'm very happy to be done with it, but now she wants the garage roof done too.

My reasoning on wanting the garage done too is that I think both buildings on the property should look like they belong together. The garage still has light brown shingles, and the house's roof is black. Plus the garage is missing two shingles. I think my house will look less like a "drive-by" if both buildings look good.

I could be wrong. I've been wrong once or twice in my life.

*S*.....i do not know the typical home buyer in Milwaukee that might be looking for a bungalow such as yours......here, young couples frequently plan on doing a bunch of fix-ups and remodelling on their own........they save a little money early to get what they want in the end....and have a bit of themselves invested in the place...........

I'm trying to avoid the scenario with an interested buyer where they try to talk the price down $5-10,000 because the garage looks like hell.

all buyers will try to talk the price down...."curb appeal" is important......i basically have a "no-opinion" on the garage shingle color.....i agree that if the garage and house are painted identically, then the garage roof should look like the house roof.........but i'm also a bit practical, and figure if the shingles keep the weather out, they are doing their job.......
