help! How in thee hell do you change your homepage on IE? I've done it before. Why can't I find it? Fahking popup changed it on me.

OK, just in case you haven't found it yet. Select Tools, then Internet Options, and it's right on the top.

This reminds me that you asked a while ago about Cyn's browser not caching, so pages always get reloaded when you go back. Someone in my office was having the same problem. The thing that fixed it was to clear the cache. It took ages, so we thought it may just have been too big, so we reduced the cache size. Maybe that would work for Cyn.

Delete Files... (button right in the middle in a box marked Temporary Internet Files)

The next button is Settings where you can reduce the cache size.

Tools, Internet Options, enter new home page in the Home Page box, OK

Now, there are REALLY malicious pages that will change settings in the registry for the "Default" page button... not sure how that happens, or how to fix it, but you can override by putting something specific in the box. I like "about:blank" myself.

I'm not even sure how it got changed. I noticed it after I was done checking my e-mail. I closed the mail client and there was a pop-under. I closed it an reopened my browser to check LJ, and it had that same ad. I'll need to watch more closely tonight, in case it happens again.
