I notice LiveJournal has been very quiet lately.

I suppose there are a lot of reasons for that. It is spring. People are tired of hearing about the war online. People are tired of hearing people talking about the war and politics.

I wonder if people are staying away from my journal, in particular. I'm sure some of them are avoiding me because of my politics, and I can understand that, but I wonder if some people don't talk to me as much, because I don't talk to them as much. Sometimes I'll get a lot of comments to a post, and I don't respond to any of them. I want you all to know that I do appreciate all of your comments.

There are many reasons why I might not say anything. Sometimes I just don't know what to say. Sometimes I simply agree, and there's nothing to say. Sometimes it seems like a waste to comment with "yeah," or "LOL!" I know it isn't a waste, but I still can't get myself to make such comments.

Please tell yourself that I have read your comments, that I do appreciate them, and that I do find them funny (when appropriate ;-) ).

subject: I started to post with 'anti-social lately' on Friday, but didn't get around to doing it. odd coincidence.

para 1: I noticed that, too, but seems to have picked up just a bit this past week, at least on my f-list.

para 2: I suspect this is true. it is how I feel, and out here, my bits of springtime have been coming in 15-60 minute spurts between similar rain showers, annoying me to no end because it makes it so hard to really get anything done in the yard. and yes, I am overwhelmed by war news and war postings.

para 3 & 4: I'm not avoiding anyone, really. I just don't always comment, like you say. I don't like getting involved in dialogues that much, which is why I don't do AIM or chat rooms, it becomes too distracting and time consuming, and LJ alone is already all that and more. these both do a good job of summing up my view of things right now.

para 5: noted.

additionally, I read Cyn's linked Atlantic piece about introverts, and much of it fits me to a T. I can be gregarious and social when needed, but I have a great need for solitude as well. this was really driven home on the trip to Pasadena, where I was constantly with a busload of kids, or sharing a room with 3 other women.

so, nothing personal. I'm reading everybody, but not saying much at the moment.

I thought of Cyn's article on introverts, too. I appreciate your comments when you make them, but never feel slighted when you don't.
Same thing in "real life".
