It was a quiet day.Cindy is gone so I got virtually no e-mail messages. And work was kind of quiet. Enough to keep me occupied, but not busy. Which was good, but I ended up with not much work done.
Tried to keep away nervousness over Cyn's flight. That was strange. I've never been nervous about flying, myself or anyone else.
Had supper at my mom's.
Invited my friend Steve to the symphony on Sunday.
Then I got do something I haven't done in a very long time. Whatever I want. I always have something that I have to do. Like remodel the bathroom, or do the dishes. Tonight, I wandered around until I saw something that I wanted to do. First, I put away some videotapes. then I messed with my computer.
I used to use an old 486 laptop for my e-mail. When I got this computer a couple of years ago, the laptop got closed up and covered with dust. The problem was that I still had files that I wanted to keep. I needed to transfer them over, but for some reason, I couldn't do it. My e-mail client had gone out of date, and I couldn't send mail. And for some reason, I couldn't get my new computer to read any documents from the old one. I changed Word documents into .txt files, and transferred them on a floppy disk, but to no avail. I finally got a chance to devote more time to it. I messed with the e-mail client and found some access phone numbers that were still active. After half an hour of messing, I got it to dial. Unfortunately, something locked up and I completely lost the ability to send mail. So then I went back to the floppy transfer. This time it worked. I don't know why it works now and it didn't before. So I just now am getting things accomplished and it's bed time.
