This was actually written the other day:

I'm telling you outright: the anti-American left would now oppose war against Hitler. They have no principles other than hating America, hating capitalism, hating SUV's and the people who drive them, hating Christians, and despising the country that gives them the freedom to complain. ...spread their vile hate and campaign of vicious lies.

I'm sorry, but those who oppose the war do so for one of two reasons. One, they just oppose war. Two, they fear that the consequences of war are worse than if there were none. In neither case are the people evil, they simply have our country's (or humanity's) best interests in mind.

The people who are in favor of war have our country's safety in mind. The people who oppose war out of fear of increased terrorism also have our country's safety in mind. Neither of them hate America. They just disagree on the outcome.

Well, wasn't there some opposition against a war with Hitler? Otherwise we would have become involved a lot sooner.

I hate people, but I do realize that people have sucked all throughout Time. The "extremes" of today are really very small perturbations when you look at the timeline of "civilization."

I don't hate America, but I don't think patriotism has anything to do with blindly following our leaders. Especially when they are on a mission that seems to have nothing to with anything but oil and power.

Our government made some stupid mistakes during the Eisenhower era, and we're still paying for it now. This insanity has to stop. We have to stop replacing one evil dictator with another in the Middle East. We need to either finish the job, or get the hell out.

People who make the statement you posted have such a limited view of the world, it sickens me.

Interestingly enough, a lot of people didn't believe that the atrocities of the Nazi concentration camps were real. The attitude of our country was sort of "not my problem".

Nope, not a lot of faith in humanity at all today.
