what is it with Tim Curry?

Why do I have to watch him?

Why am I fascinated with his every performance?

One reason is that I have to see how he does. I mean, he always does well, but I have to see how different his acting, and how "Tim" he is each time. He's had so many diverse roles - in Rocky Horror, It, Annie, Hunt for Red October, Clue - okay, that's his type casting - the butler. which he reprised on WB's remake of the old Family Affair. French, the butler.

I had to watch it. Not an exciting show. Not an interesting show, but it was interesting to watch Curry. (He's looking a little pudgy.)

For the record, this was the second time I've had TV on this year.

He's got so much charisma! Also, I'm fascinated by the fact that I can't always tell it's him...like in IT. I stare at that clown face and listen to the voice, but I don't see or hear Tim in there.

I agree, I think Tim Curry's had one of the most interesting careers of most actors who I can think of.

He's fantastic. Did you love his role in the movie 'Charlie's Angels' as much as I did?

Interesting you should mention that. I didn't know he was in it until I did some research to make this post - just to make sure I didn't miss anything obvious. I'm way out of the loop on recent entertainment. And I was hoping to avoid seeing that one. I might have to. How big a role did he have?

He wasn't one of the main characters, but he was in a number of scenes. Also, I thought Crispin Glover (George McFly) was phenomenal in his "bad guy" role. In addition to the movie having one of the craziest intro scenes to a movie I've ever seen, I'd recommend it based on their performances.

Absolutely. A Tool show is definitely a unique and memorable experience. You've noted both the complex structure throughout much of their music and Maynard's powerful vocals and lyrics; these are the main reasons why they continue to be one of my favorite bands. Their repeated "think for yourself" message is certainly a commendable one. "Maynard is an odd character" indeed. :*)
