Do you like penises or do you just like what they can do?

I ask this question, because I think they are strange things. Dangly, hairy, lots of skin. They just don't look they belong.

But obviously they have their... charms. They are capable of great things.

So do you like them for what they are, or do you just like them for what they can do?

if i had to just have a framed picture of a penis on my wall, w/out knowing what it was capable of or whose it was.. i'd be like, ugh, get that thing -off- of my wall...they are not the most gorgeous things in the world. but because of knowing what it does and .. particularly whom it was attached to, i'd adore it.. just like every other aspect of his body :) even that silly mole in the middle of his back.

Ok,I live in the land of sauna. In this culture nakedness is a very everyday-kind of, very natural thing. And most of the times everything but sexual.

I see my dad naked once or twice a week. I've taken a sauna with every single male co-worker I have. I don't think there is a man in my little world I haven't seen naked. So 99% times penis is nothing but a body part. There is no charm to it. And to look at all the penises in my life in a sexual way...well, I'de have to be one messed-up woman.

But I don't have to actually SEE my boyfriends penis to feel the "charm"... He can be wearing all the clothes in the world... so it's not really the penis itself that beholds the magic. It's something else.

So in general I don't like or dislike penises. They are bodyparts and I don't have any feelings towards bodyparts in general. And in my boyfriends case, well I love everything about him, also his penis.

You americans need to be naked more. You make a huge deal about boobs and penises and what ever and really, I don't get it...:))

I'm not a heterosexual lady, but here's my answer anyway.

I once went to see a Pedro Almodovar film, and to my surprise, there was a short film on first called Dick. It consisted of stills of penises in close up, with a voice over of women talking about their feelings for and experiences with penises. It was a compelling film. I don't remember much of the voice over part, except that much of it was funny. What sticks in my mind is the enormous variety among the penises in size, shape, colour and every other attribute. They are bizarre little appendages. Taken out of context, I wouldn't have known what some of them were.

All the penises in the film were flaccid. Having looked at some of the dodgier communities on LJ, I also have seen a fair variety of erect ones. They are less various, except in their degree of straightness. They are less interesting, and more functional in appearance.

You say they are capable of great things, but I always feel that they should be more mobile, in the manner of a finger. Use your imagination here.

Finally, I agree with my Finnish friend - nudity shouldn't be such a big thing. One the beach, I always marvel at the lengths people go to trying to keep covered up while changing. I take a brazen attitude: if you don't want to see it, don't look. I usually turn away from the people nearest me, as I realise that they may not want it in their face. Er - so to speak.

Hmmm.. I don't think I have ever separated the penis from the man. If I am attracted to the penis, it is because it belong to a person I love.. the rest, I never think about the penis on the man, unless the man is taking pains to make it obvious that he has one, and then it is generally in a negative light. It isn't the penis, it is the person attached to it.
