Cleaned the basement tonight. And I mean that in the ongoing task sense, rather than the past tense sense. I was surprised how much standing water was still down there. Aside from one box I couldn't reach, nothing left on the floor was anything that could be destroyed, but much of it could end up the worse for the wear, like things that could rust or corrode. (The aforementioned box, was a collection of old silverware and knives that I had never gotten around to throwing out. There was quite a lot of mold in it.) I put an exhaust fan in the window and another smaller one just blowing around the room, and I'm leaving them run until things are mostly dried up. I don't think I'll bother with the dehumidifier until I turn the fans off.
