Date: 2002-06-05 07:37 am (UTC)From:I attached the jpeg file to my e-mail at home last night. I sent it to myself here at work (Lotus Notes, not webmail). When I opened the e-mail it was embedded. I forwarded it to Cyn and when she opened it, it was again an attachment. But it was a bmp and not a jpeg.
Re:
Date: 2002-06-05 07:54 am (UTC)From:all that is a pain in the neck, and i only do it when someone else sends me something. what you need to do is not embed it to begin with. i don't know what your options are, but some programs have separate choices to attach images and files. choose the file one in that case. or, it could be that your email at work is set up to automatically open images. change the settings in that case. i have no idea why it chooses to use bmp format, that happens to me too.

If you right click the picture and get a "detach" option, that should do it. Otherwise, save the whole e-mail to your C drive and it should spit out the pic separately.
Notes is a bit wierd.

Date: 2002-06-05 08:25 am (UTC)From:I did get the e-mail detached as a tiff, and then saved it as a jpeg using sucky MS Photoeditor, but the image is posterizedtoo much.
Finally some bandwidth opened up at my Geocities site, and I was able to save it directly from there.
Thanks for your help.

Date: 2002-06-05 08:31 am (UTC)From:It's funny how small a round painting can be in comparison to a rectangular one of the same overall width. I had to hang it in a different place than I had planned. Still looks great though. Maybe better. It's closer to traffic, so people can see it more closely. :-)
The CD sounds good too. More later. :-)

Date: 2002-06-05 08:40 am (UTC)From:Notes can give you web access to your mail - do you have that? Try pointing your browser at http://YourNotesServer/ or https://YourNotesServer/
If that works, it'll have to give you the picture in a save-able format.
