You may recall that the battery went dead on my car last week. I haven't reset the clock yet. It's kind of tough to do, because without that clock, I don't know what time it is when I'm in the car.

Just last Thursday, I realized I hadn't set one of my desk clocks when the time changed, last month. It's the decorative one. I also hadn't changed the clock on the VCR, but I knew that I hadn't done that one.

There is also a clock on my stereo, but I never set that one.

Today, my power was off for a few hours. The electric company was doing some work somewhere, and shut off the power to my neighborhood for six hours. I was glad I had one clock in the house that runs on batteries. My clock radio has a battery backup, but it doesn't display the time while the power is off, it just keeps it.

I was gone when the electricity came back on, but when I looked at the clock in my kitchen to see what time it was so I could set the clock on the microwave, it was dead. They batteries held out for me so I could tell the time while the power was out, but they must have decided that since the power was back on, they were no longer needed. They were wrong though. I had to call time on the phone, to set my clocks. I could have reset them by the clock radio, but it turned out to be five minutes off. I don't know if that had anything to do with it running on batteries or not.

The one in the kitchen is running again, but of course it is three hours off. Right now I own three clocks that are correct.

I thought that was the funniest thing when the kitchen clock died yesterday, of all days. :-D

Nope. I don't like wearing them. And my wrists are too skinny.

By the way, it looks like your space helmet is frosting over.

Give a man a clock and he knows what time it is.
Give him two, and he's never quite sure.

my watch died after a few salt water baths in hawaii last winter.....so far, i have not found a replacement......i get by, using the computer's clock at work.....and my vehicle clock....but i did need to borrow a spare timex from my wife when traveling last week.....i've never really liked the big watches that so many people wear....they just get hung up on things...i'm looking for a replacement, but not that hard......it has to be the right size.....and the right price....until then, i will be timeless.....i

It's funny how much we pay attention to time....when it's a purely human fabrication and is only real 'cause we've decreed it so...

But we live on much less instinct that we used to (eons ago), so we need those guidelines.

But think about the times when you've had time off from work or been on vacation (eg). I find that I pay MUCH less attention to the time....

Personally, I think I'd much rather live as much by instinct as I can....even in this modern age...

Of all my friends posts today yours decides not to want to escape my mind tonight. The topic is Imagetime. Of all the things to stop ones mind on is the concept of time. Father time, the origin of time, time travel, etc, i've got time on my hands, and a multitude of songs and creative endeavers based on time - well it boggles the mind.

To live by the sun and the sunset as my dear friends the Helen and Scott Nearing would believe - if they were here today - I am sure would have some words of wisdom - that sorrifully and sadly escape me at this moment.

God bless.
