"It was parked overnight outside a hangar for maintenance. Somehow it moved. They don't know how. No one was on it. It's under investigation," Los Angeles International Airport spokesman Harold Johnson said.
Is this guy a relative to all the Johnsons on Blazing Saddles? LOL I just got a flash in my mind of the town meeting in that movie.
Oooo ... you know, I've accidentally opened the hatchback instead of the gas tank before, maybe that was it .. the levers are right there next to each other and all.
My mother went grocery shopping one day and came out of the store with her purchases to find the 1959 Cadillac was gone. She was panicked. Had someone stolen the vehicle? There was a large gathering of people near the road. As she walke toward them she could see the car through gaps here and there. She thought they must have detained the thief. As she asked what was going on someone said a big car had started rolling backward through the lot and they stopped it before it got to the street. There was nobody in the car. It had just started to roll out of it's parking space. Mom was thoroughly embarrassed to admit it was her car. Fortunately, it didn't hit any of the other cars parked in the lot.
sooooooooo, it's time to raise wages for American's maintenance staff?.......looks like someone "forgot" to block the wheels (you know, with those big chocks that weigh about 30 lbs each).......and then, someone else "forgot" to set the parking brake..........coincidence?......or is the maintenance staff just too overworked to follow the SOP?.......this isn't the only reason, but you won't find my butt in an American Airlines seat on my next trip south.......
That happened to me once. My sister was riding with me when I was test driving a car. She said, "what's this yellow button in the glove compartment?" "I don't know." CLICK. Fortunately it stayed down.
