However, I don't think it could be legal with something like this. This is so obviously a journal, and as soon as you write something, it's copyrighted to you unless you willingly give up that copyright. I think whoever took this over would need to be extremely explicit about their policy in that regard, and anyway, it would be suicide; no one's going to keep a journal if they lose the rights to their own words. Too many people here are actually writers and artists to let themselves get taken by that crap.
I've read three different provider contracts, and they were all very different. The one I'm referring to (and I can't remember which one it was) said if you post any copywritten material, you must own the copyright yourself so that it can legally be assumed that you hvae assigned it upon posting.
Another explicitly stated that the submissor retains all rights, and the third wasn't very clear about it, but didn't appear to claim rights.
