almost through September
Sep. 20th, 2024 11:42 pmWe had the opening of our exhibition tonight. Very few people showed up, so I felt like nobody needed to hear my speech. Some of the artists talked about their work, which was nice with a small group. But that's out of the way now. I only have to worry about pick-up when the exhibition is over in two weeks. That's the same day as installation for a different show, and when that's done, we won't have any more exhibitions for a while. Which is a problem, but that's a different problem.
Tomorrow, we're going to the art museum where one of our members is giving a talk about his work.
On Friday, we have to go to Madison for the Photomidwest Biennial, which is a pretty big show. They're having a whole festival. The next day features talks by artists. I need to go to that too. Not sure if I'll be driving home in between, or getting a hotel there.
Oh, and I need to deliver a trunkload of work to a gallery on the 1st. That's a long drive. And two days after that, I have to drive back to Madison for another opening.
Our calendar was really packed this month. Fortunately, October doesn't look so busy.
Interesting how this is all about art. Cindy and I were talking with someone at the show tonight, who complimented us on... being charismatic? The faces of CoPA - Cindy is the Membership Chair, so she deals with a lot of people. We know most of the members, and try to be friendly and welcoming.
