Labor Day weekend
Sep. 2nd, 2024 11:07 pmThursday I went to Chicago. I picked up a friend, and we went to the Art Institute to see the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition, which I enjoyed. Then B and I walked around for a while and had lunch. After she went her way, I walked around downtown some more with my camera. Not sure when I'll have time to put those photos together. I was super tired after that walk. In the later part, I was walking so slowly that people were passing me! I wasn't going to stop at Delilah's, since I'd just been there a couple of weeks ago, but it turned out to be their 31st anniversary party, so thought that was a good excuse to go.
Friday evening was about getting a CoPA exhibition off the ground. It was, and is, super-short notice. We weren't even sure we could pull it off, but I decided we could and should, so I met with a few people to see how we would do it. We had to come up with a theme and such.
Saturday, I went to the Highland Games. I spent most of my time talking with people I knew. Didn't take my camera. Cindy and I went out for dinner in the evening, then we walked around a little bit - went out on the breakwater in Port Washington.
Sunday and Monday were mostly yard work. I mowed on Sunday, did the edging today, and also some digging in some gardens. And some painting on the shed. And still did CoPA stuff, including that exhibition, the upcoming member meeting, and getting all of this set so we could get the newsletter out.

They have these concrete walls along the breakwater. A few years ago they were painted. Each wall is a different shade of blue. The plaque tells us that this was a beautification project, and lists the name of the color they used. This one says they used Major Blue.
