June was very busy. In July, things opened up, and my schedule didn't feel so full. August was similar to July until this week, and now I feel slammed. Cindy, on the other hand said she didn't get why I thought July was slow. I said, "look at the calendar. There was only one thing every week." She replied that there must have been things that were left off of it. But for the first time in a couple of months I had freedom to choose which project I would tackle on any given evening, instead of being obligated to do the one thing that had to be done right away.

But here's something I noticed about how things make me feel busy or not. In June, I had fewer free days. Plus, it rained a lot. This meant I had to mow the lawn whenever I had a free evening when it wasn't raining. So this lawn mowing was forced. If I had a chance to do it, it was an obligation, which used up my few remaining free days. But when July came along, the average week had four free evenings, and with less rain (meaning I had not only more freedom to mow it, but it was required less often) I had a lot more leeway to mow the lawn. And then - this is the important part - it didn't feel like an obligation. So the night I mowed, it was just a free-time activity.

And now the grass is getting long and I have very little free time, so it's going to use up some of that free time.
