not mowing
Jun. 20th, 2021 10:55 pmIt had been very dry, and the lawn hadn't grown much. But then a few days ago we started getting rain again, and the lawn needed mowing. So that was the one thing I needed to get done this weekend.
I would do it on Saturday. I did some various yard work sorts of things. Just taking care of whatever I felt needed taking care of at any given moment. In the afternoon, Cindy asked if I wanted to go get a beer. "OK."
"Are you sure? Do you have anything going on?"
"I need to mow the lawn but I can do that later."
So we went out for a beer. I didn't feel like doing it when we got back. And then I didn't feel like doing it after supper either. I would do it on Sunday.
So today, I went outside and was taking care of whatever I felt needed taking care of at any given moment. Pulling weeds, mostly. And then I thought I had better mow. But I saw more weeds to pull. And then I decided to mow, and took the downspouts off. And I opened the shed and took those downspouts off. While doing that, I saw some weeds that needed pulling before I mowed. So I did that for a while. As I finished up with that, it started to rain.
It was raining lightly, so I decided to start anyway. I got the front done, and by the time I was done with the west side, the rain had picked up, so I quit.
Procrastination wins again.
It's not supposed to rain tomorrow or Tuesday. A friend is coming over tomorrow night, though. Maybe I can get it done before he arrives. Maybe I can take a little time off work, and make it up another day.
