Around Wednesday, my friend asked if we could play D&D on Saturday. It had been a while, so I said sure. Later, I realized I had a lot of work to do, and the weather was going to be nice, so last night I tried to cancel. I realized that was kinda short notice, and it's tough to schedule, so I agreed to a half-session. It turned out to take almost as long as a regular game, so I didn't have much time in the afternoon to work. I did a little bit of gardening, and a little bit of work in the shed.

After supper I painted. It turns out that the paint went much further than the primer did, so I had enough to do two coats on everything. So paint is done. I just have to wait a few days for it to dry and harden before I hang the stuff back on the wall.

I washed the grimy switchplates. I should find screws that aren't rusty, to put them back up. I swept the floor of Cindy's side, so her car can go back in tomorrow.

I installed the garage door opener a year ago February. The safety sensors were still sitting on the floor at the side of the garage, in their temporary place. So I was messing with them a little bit. I unplugged the garage door opener to reroute the cord, and the thing reset. I had to dig out the installation manual. I don't usually save them because why would you need an installation manual after you've installed it? Apparently there are operating instructions as well as installation instructions? Next time I can just search for "garage door opener reset after power outage." You have to go through this process to reset it every time power is interrupted. Otherwise it will not close.

I did not watch the news or go to Facebook on the day of the election. I hardly slept at all on election night last year, I was so upset. I wasn't going through that again. It turns out that they weren't even able to have a guess about the outcome on Tuesday night, so I made the right call. The next morning, the results left me cautiously optimistic. Things were looking better over the next few days, and finally today they called it for Biden.

I'm not happy. In fact, I felt worse as the week wore on. Today and yesterday, I've had butterflies in my stomach.

We really needed a landslide win. This was a decisive win, but not a landslide. I was hoping that Trump's followers would see he's a loser, and turn their backs on him. But he's made himself into a martyr. And more people voted for him than did in 2016. That's scary.

It's going to be a long four years. The propaganda has gotten to them. They're convinced Biden is going to turn this country to a communist regime where the religious are persecuted and their guns are confiscated. And that the liberals are all criminals that will riot and destroy everything we hold dear, and only the Republicans can save them.
