We went to Chicago to pick up Cindy's image from the gallery.
We took the opportunity to go into Chicago and look around. My intention was to find photo-worthy scenes. We went to the Magnificent Mile area, just north of The Loop. There wasn't much but shoppers, so I turned to my fallback subjects - buildings and bridges. We walked down the newish Riverwalk, where it was nice but crowded due to the bars and restaurants. We ended up walking three miles.
We started the walk with a stop at the Dr. Seuss Museum. It's actually a gallery, since all the works are limited edition prints (authorized by the estate), but it was still cool to see, since they were extremely well-done prints, and they looked just like the originals. There were some from the books, like The Sneetches or The Lorax, but many were painted for himself, and don't quite match the style of the books.
Afterwards we made a stop at Binny's for whisky (for an upcoming tasting) and Goose Island Brewery for dinner. And then a stop at Mars Cheese Castle for cheese.
