Minneapolis
Oct. 16th, 2016 09:18 pmWe left Saturday morning for Minneapolis. The temps went up as we went northwest. It was a gray day, but the trees still looked great. The golden leaves glow under the clouds.
We checked into our hotel in the Mill District. We could see the hill in Gold Medal Park. There was a wedding party taking their photos on it. We wondered if it were Eric & Max, and it was, but we didn't know that until we got home and I examined my photos.
After a while, we walked down the street to the venue. The wedding was great. The officiants were friends of theirs, and the ceremony mostly seemed to consist of testimonials to a couple of great guys. Cocktails for a while, then dinner, more testimonials, then dancing. It was fun.
The venue was above the Day Block Brewing Company. Hardwood floor, brick walls, very noisy. I should have walked the couple of blocks back to the car to see if there were earplugs in the glove compartment.
When we left, we went back to the room so Cyn could change into better shoes, and I could get my camera, and we walked around the park for a while. It was a beautiful night. As was the rest of the weekend.
Sunday morning we met Ms.Fledermaus and her husband Matt for brunch at the Birchwood cafe. Then went back to their house for a little bit, for kitties and bunny and skulls.
We left town at noon. The sun was out for most of the ride, and the colors were great. The temps were around 75° until we got near the lake, so it was 62° and foggy at home. I had just enough time to mow the lawn before it got dark.
