half day... or not
Oct. 4th, 2016 11:36 pmThe plan was to work a half day, then mow the lawn, then go to Chicago.
Since I start at 9:00, my afternoon begins at 1:00. I thought I'd try to get out sooner anyway. Then I realized I had a meeting scheduled for 8:30, so I would go in half an hour early anyway, Perfect! I rained all weekend and it gets dark too early to mow the lawn after work, so I had to do it on vacation time. I have whisky on order from some stores in Chicago, so I figured as long as I was taking off for the lawn, I might as well head down there to pick it up. Otherwise, it's a rush to get down there and get it all after work. And since I was down there, I was going to meet Brenda for dinner.
So first, I forgot about my early meeting. The boss texted me so I called in and missed the first half. So I got an extra five minutes on the start of my workday. Then work was extremely busy. Plus I found out yesterday morning that I had to pick up my mom from an appointment at the hospital.
So I worked until noon. Picked up my mom and took her home (40 minutes), canceled with Brenda and went back to work until 2:30. There was just too much work to do. I distributed as much as I could to the other guys, and still had to work an extra couple of hours. Then I screwed around a little bit, and then mowed the lawn. If I hadn't done that half hour of screwing around, I could have had supper made, but I got in from the lawn at the same time Cindy got home, so I went back out and finished up some stuff. Then I screwed around some more, and went back to work for 2-1/2 hours, trying to get caught up.
It was a hectic day. And I didn't get much sleep last night. Insomnia seems to be returning. Cyn went to a movie tonight. I wanted to go too, but I didn't have the time.
Anyway, tomorrow night, I'll head south as soon as I can, and get that whisky.
Remember ljuser=Hilltop? Hilltop Designs? Unquiet Visions? We ordered another of his pieces. It doesn't fit in the frame we got. It's too thick. It's one of those premade frames with glass included, but there's only room for a thin piece of cardboard between the glass and the backing. The artwork is mounted to a thick piece of foamcore, and there's a mat too (which is about all that would have fit).
