We went to a play tonight. Man of La Mancha. I'm not a big fan of musicals. Much less the Broadway productions. "To dream the impossible dream..."
We subscribe to The Rep, which means we get five plays a year, whether we like them or not. The first one of the year is always a music. I haven't disliked them all. Well, I wouldn't say I disliked this one either, but I wouldn't have missed it if I'd stayed home. That's okay, it's interesting to see the production and everything.
The one musical they've done that I liked was The Color Purple. It was an interesting play that had songs. In most musicals, the story is second to the songs.
Other musicals I like... Rocky Horror. OK, not sure that counts - it's just odd. Blues Brothers. That doesn't exactly count as a musical, does it? My favorite is Little Shop of Horrors. I love that movie!
