I went down to CoPA's gallery space last night, to hang the members show. We got it all done, though there were a couple of supervisors who didn't actually help. Not sure why. That wasn't a big deal, I just thought it was a little funny. Saw a lot of people I didn't know. I guess we have a lot of members who join only for the opportunity to show their work at this show. A teacher had about half a dozen of her students sign up for the show. Student memberships are half price, so that's a pretty good deal for them to get some gallery experience.
See, it's this whole pay-to-play thing. It's why I'm not extremely proud of being in this show. My work is good enough, so that's cool, but anyone can be in it.
I wasn't all that happy about where they hung my work. There are about six artists in the room, and half of them are animals. All the photos except mine have a rich, golden tone to them. Mine look dull and greyish. Also, all the other photos are larger than mine, so mine just dont fit in. Other rooms have a much wider variety of work, so fitting in is not an issue. It's only that mine are kinda similar, that it becomes an issue.
