Weekend Update
Jan. 28th, 2013 12:35 amSo friday was... sit around the house, watch some Dr Who.
Saturday, what'd we do in the afternoon? Not much.
Saturday evening was the Robert Burns Banquet. Formal banquet in honor of Scottish poet Robert Burns. Fancy dinner. I was in my new kilt. The food was excellent. The whisky was a little hard to keep up with, at the table. The conversation while we were standing around before and after dinner was okay. Better conversation at the table. It was a good group of people. The entertainment was great. A couple of pipe and drum bands, and some dance groups.
Early this afternoon, I drove down to a not so nice part of town, to shoot a couple of historic buildings. Then I went to the wreath laying ceremony and "unveiling" of the new benches at the Robert Burns monument. Afterwards, we went over to County Clare restaurant for some drinks and scones.
Gaming in Waukesha after that.
We got an inch of snow in the hour we were in County Clare. Then freezing rain before the ride home, so the roads were icy (except for the freeways).
