what people do
Sep. 12th, 2012 12:06 amI enjoy finding out about what people do, and how they do it, and how they got into it in the first place.
Last night, I was talking to a guy who makes quilts. He's an artist. And he does this for a living. See: bruceseeds.com He recently had some of his quilts on set in an independent film, so it was interesting to hear about that too.
And a guy who "packages oil." His company puts together oil per spec for OEMs like Harely and Suzuki. He mixes the oil by grade, and additives, and bottles it. Now there's a job you never think about.
Tonight, I saw a presentation by Aaron Johnson, the guy who draws a comic strip named What The Duck. I wasn't familiar with it, but it turns out to be pretty good. At least if you're into photography humor. :-) He was pretty entertaining, and he talked all about how he got into it and how he does it.
I wonder what interesting people I'm going to meet tomorrow night!
