Today, I putzed around the gardens. Then I got the ladder, and went up into the big maple tree, and removed branches. There were a lot of dead ones hanging up there, and I also cut a few live ones out, so I can mow under it, without getting whacked in the face.
Then Cindy and I went out to my dad and stepmom's. I had a Scotch my dad hadn't tried, so they invited us out for dinner. The weather was perfect. A good temperature, and not windy. They made salmon on the grill, and chocolate rum cake for dessert. And we had good Scotch. I had three Highland Parks. Two were new for both of us - the 16-year, which was fine, and the 21-year, which was excellent. Then the 30-year, which I'd never had before, and he ranked at number 2, out of 850. It was even more excellent.
So this was a nice day.
