frustration
Jul. 8th, 2011 11:43 pmWhat a frustrating day.
I started out by not only sleeping late, but forgetting that I was supposed to go in an hour early for a meeting. In the past, me showing up late has infuriated the boss, but this time he didn't make a big deal of it.
I had a 12:30 appointment for an oil change and its 5000-mile checkup. I left work at 12:15, thinking I'd be back by 1:30 at the latest. I dropped the car off and walked down the street for lunch. Slowest... restaurant... ever. It took them half an hour to bring me my sandwich. As far as I know, there were only three people ahead of me, two of whom ordered soup. It was almost 2:15 before I got back to work. So I had to work late on a friday. Partly because I didn't, in fact, go in an hour early. I stayed to 6:00, and still have to make up half an hour next week.
That was the worst of it, but there were several other minor annoyances throughout the day, mostly having to do with me not thinking straight.
Next door to the Ford dealer, Suburban Motors was setting up for its Block Fest.
