baseball caps
Jul. 13th, 2010 10:54 pmI just saw an article listing some major fashion-don'ts for men. I agreed with all of them except the baseball cap. First of all, I don't see anything wrong with them, as long as they somewhat go with the outfit (not with a suit!). But most of you are probably aware that I wear them all the time. There's a reason for it. I need a hat. My scalp can burn after an hour in the sun. I seldom wear sunglasses, and my eyes are sensitive to the sun, so I need the sunshade. I can't handle water in my eyes, so I can't be in the rain without a hat. And on windy days, it holds my comb-over down.
The only other alternative is a different style of hat. Know any? A fedora looks pretty dorky with a t-shirt. I have a cowboy hat, but it doesn't go with anything except my cowboy outfit. Ranger hat? Are you kidding? My pith helmet it not really made of pith, so it's rather heavy. My various styles of military surplus are even more casual attire than my baseball cap. So what else is there?
I was kidding about the comb-over.
There was also a mention of Hawaiian shirts being horrible. That gets a big ol' fuck you.
