The weather was good. We got there thursday evening, and it was very warm - nice. Friday, it was sunny and hot. We walked about twelve miles. Saturday it was mid to low seventies (nice), and alternated between sunny and bright overcast. We walked another twelve miles. Sunday morning after breakfast, we hung around the B&B for an hour or so, then got a ride to the airport.

At home, it was cool all weekend until today, when it was sunny and warm.

Here's the short-form report. I'd like to post a lot more about the trip, but until I do, or in case I don't, this will be it.

Cindy and I took the train to the Empire State Building. Paid a stupid amount of money to go to the top of a very tall and historic and building and look around. Was cool. Hopped the train a couple of stops up the line and took a look around Grand Central Station. Was also cool. We were to meet Mike at the Museum of Modern Art (I wanted to see the Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibition), but ran out of time. Had lunch and then met Mike at Rockefeller Plaza. Walked down to Times Square, where we met penpusher. Took a look in the lobby of Toys R Us, then walked up Broadway to Central Park. Dean took us all around the park - okay, only the lower half - where we saw everything from the toy sailboat pond, to the disco roller skating rink.

After a stop at F.A.O. Schwartz and a swing by the library, we hopped a train down to the colorful East Village to a colorful Indian restaurant, and then walked over to Greenwich Village for drinks.

While Mike showed us around on friday, Dean showed us his old stomping grounds, which Mike was less familiar with, and he knew a lot of history of places. I like hearing about all that, so it was very cool to have him as our guide.

Our walking mileage was just under four miles thursday evening, thirteen on friday, at least eleven on saturday, and almost none today.

The Manhattan Bridge, from the DUMBO neighborhood, with the Empire State Building in the distance. Kinda cliched, I know, but that's New York for you - millions of people there, and I'm not the first with a camera.
