My cousin took me to see his church. He wanted to take me to the top of the steeple, but his legs were hurting from the climb up the bird tower. I climbed up to the first level.

the ride home

The end of my Alabama trip included a ride on Amtrak, from Chicago to Milwaukee.



I rode in the quiet car. I didn't know it was the quiet car until they announced it. No cell phone conversations, please talk in hushed tones, blah blah. And it wasn't crowded. It was nice. I had my mp3 player, and, sensing my tiredness and my mood, it played mostly mellow selections. I dozed a bit, and took a few pictures.
