Last night I said we had nearly three inches. A little later I looked out and saw that we didn't have anywhere near that. This morning, there was exactly four inches in the driveway. Not exactly the blizzard they predicted. But they're still predicting 12 to 18", so that worries me. I could have serious trouble with my drive home. Actually, the worst trouble I always have is getting out of the parking lot, but at least I can probably find a shovel at work.

I went to work, for a while
Feb. 6th, 2008 04:00 pmI did a half day. 10:00 until 2:30. I had just decided to stick it out until 6:00 or so, when the roads would probably be in better shape, when I remembered that our parking lot probably wouldn't be cleared by then. I went to the conference room, to see what the lot looked like, and there were a lot of people leaving, and some were having trouble getting out of the parking lot. So I left.
Visibility was pretty limited. There wasn't any pavement showing, and it was bright out, so there was no differentiation in the snow, so I had to try to guess where my lane was based on where the ditches were, and hope there weren't any drifts in front of me. It was a tricky drive.
