This time it's heavy and wet. Very packable. Which is what it's doing on the streets, since they haven't plowed. Really stupid. To save money, they don't send the plows out until it stops snowing. Not helpful, when there's five inches on the ground. This time, they're not even doing the main streets. Maybe they thought that since the schools were all closed, that work was too, and maybe everyone was staying home.
Of course, this was the day in which we ran out of supplies for lunch, so I had to go home. That was certainly good timing. Thirty mph was the speed to go (rather than the usual 50). I was hoping to get home early tonight, but now I'll have to stay til the usual time, since my lunch break took an hour.
The snow is coming down in fat flakes - the kind that weigh your eyelashes down. And it's sticking to the trees. Very pretty. I wish I could ski on it.
Edit: It was actually fairly light on the ground. But it did pack tightly.
