I bought the new microwave last night. The plan was to install it tonight.

So first I got a late start because of a late supper. And then I had a tough time figuring out how to take the old one out (Cyn helped with that). Then I marked the holes where I had to drill into the wall. About this time, I decided I'd get everything ready to hang the oven, and put it in tomorrow night. I then drilled the holes in the cabinet above it. Then I drilled the holes in the wall. I was proud of myself for opening the pocket door (a pocket door slides on a track into and out of the wall) that's behind the wall, so I wouldn't drill into it (and I noticed some marks in the door that correspond to previous holes in the wall). It wasn't until I tried to attach the mounting plate to the wall using the provided toggle bolts, that I realized that the bolts were too long and I couldn't open the door. So I had to remove everything. Whomever tears the wall out will undoubtedly be amused at the number of toggles lying down there.

Now I have to improvise a way to hang the mounting bracket. Hopefully using some holes that are already in the wall, rather than having to drill even more. This is at least the third oven that has hung there. So after supper, I need to take a trip to the hardware store. And then hang the thing. And then clean house for our company on saturday night. I sure hope I get the thing up by then. I don't have any time to do any of this on saturday because it's our yearly Physical Inventory Day at work. Joy.

Next up is a new refrigerator. I sure hope I don't have any trouble with it. It sounds like the diswasher is on its way out. That promises to be not much fun. I think the house is mad at us for leaving it for a week, back in february, and spending our money elsewhere.
