Steve Howe
May. 1st, 2006 11:05 pmSaw him at Shank tonight. Solo show. Mostly acoustic. He started out with some pseudo-classical noodling, and I thought it was going to be a long night, but it picked up from there. The songs developed into more musical and tuneful works. He plays in several different styles - classical, folk, blues, country. He mentioned Big Bill Broonzy, Merle Travis and Chet Atkins as influences. Anyway, it was a good show.
And he sang a few songs. He doesn't have a strong, "professional" sounding voice, but he sounded good.
