plumbing travails
Dec. 22nd, 2003 07:43 pm(What does that word mean, anyway?)
I expected the plumbing to take one and a half to two hours, unless something went wrong. It took three, and everything went fairly smoothly. I just work slowly when it comes to projects like this. So after three hours we turned on the water and there was a leak. I did my whole bathroom last year and I didn't make one single leak. This time, there were only six joints, and we were on a schedule, since the whole house's water was off, and there was a leak. It turned out that I hadn't opened the valve that I was working next to. That probably created a pressure build-up that kept the solder from going into the joint. grrr. I had to shut the water back off and redo half of it.
So now we're several hours behind schedule. I was hoping to have some drywall up tonight. I doubt if we'll even get any insulation up. And we have to go shopping.
