Sep. 4th, 2002 01:47 pmYesterday my boss called me and asked if I wanted to go to a show in Cleveland with him on the twelfth. He said we'd be flying out the night before, and coming back in the afternoon after the show. It was about half an hour later that I realized that meant we'd be flying on the eleventh. You know, The Eleventh?
So I brought that up to him and he laughed and said, "Oh shit. I'll have to rethink that."
I decided I wasn't worried about flying that evening because security would be tight, and anything bad would be likely to happen earlier in the day. Besides, any terrorist attack would probably not involve airplanes, this time. My boss brought up the fact that security would be pain-in-the-ass tight, and though there would probably not be any "real" terrorist attacks, there would probably be some asshole trying to become famous, and everything would be shut down, and there we'd be.
So the boss is going down on monday, and since I'm on vacation, I won't be going.

Sep. 4th, 2002 04:54 pmIf you are angry with your spouse, make sure he or she understands the problem. Do not simply refuse to speak to him or her. If the reason you are not speaking is because you'd lose your temper, *you're* the one with the problem, and you should seek professional help.
And don't even joke about the child she's carrying not being yours.
