So how should I feel about a friend who wants someone to listen when he is troubled, but doesn't want hear any advice or suggestions? A friend who just wants a sounding board, but not someone to help? How can one give nothing but sympathy? How can one give only sympathy when one sees a real explanation or solution?
I feel like the person doesn't value our friendship as much as I do.

Nov. 5th, 2001 11:37 pmFor a long time I always felt good on Mondays and bad on Fridays. I had a good weekend, and the good feeling stayed with me for a while. And Fridays were the rotten end of a long week. It wasn't until I got off work that I began to feel better.
Then for several years it switched back to the way most people seem to feel - bad on Mondays.
Lately it has been back to the original pattern. I felt good most of the day. Good feelings from the weekend that carry over. And tired by Friday. Anticipation doesn't picke me up; only actualities.

Finally. I took the morning off work to get it done. It isn't perfect - there are a few bolts that don't want to go back in. I hope I have enough of them on to hold it. I guess I'm not that concerned about it because at 11 years old, it is decidedly less than perfect anyway. Aside from the color, the new (used) fender is in better shape than any other part of the car.
I'm not sure what to do about painting it. I guess I'll talke it over to the body shop and ask for some estimates on different amounts of work. There are some other parts I'd like painted, and I put some scratches in the door while trying to get the panel in place.
