pissed off
Apr. 2nd, 2001 08:52 amI was so mad at my dad yesterday.
On Friday, he had some drywall delivered to his new gallery. Twenty sheets of 4x8 and ten sheets of 4x10. They didn't (wouldn't) carry it inside for him. Well you can't leave it sit outside, so he panicked. It was one o'clock, and he didn't know of anyone who was free to help him carry it, so he carried it in the building by himself. He should not have carried *any* of that by himself. He's 57 years old! I wouldn't carry a sheet of that stuff unless I absolutely had to. I certainly wouldn't carry thirty sheets! I'd leave it sit outside until evening, until I could find someone to help. All you'd have to do is buy a sheet of plastic to cover it in case it rained.
But the thing is, *I* could have helped him! He should know that I can leave work anytime. The gallery is like five miles from where I work, and I can leave work anytime. He should know that. But he was too panicked. He didn't even call his wife. There's no way he could have known that she wasn't busy that day, but you'd think he would have called her to see if she could help him figure out an option. Or at the very least, complain to her about it.
He said he couldn't move his arm the rest of that night. Then yesterday, while we were building walls, his back was bothering him so much. Did I mention he had rotator cuff surgery on his shoulder three years ago? I get tired of hearing him groan every time he moves.
He never slows down. He never stops to think that this is hurting him too much. He just thinks that he's gotta keep going or it will never get done. He doen't realize that if he doesn't slow down it may never get done, either.
