It was warm this weekend. It got over 70° on Friday. I was working from home, but I didn't have time to enjoy it. I had a whisky tasting in the evening. I figured I'd be getting dressed in the afternoon (we were kilted), but the afternoon got busy. That doesn't usually happen until after 3:30 when everyone's trying to get their shit done before they leave for the weekend!

My dad showed up at 3:30, while I was finishing getting ready. But we still got to the place by the time I said we'd be there. Of course it took them quite a while to get around to answering the door. We got set up, had some food, and hung around for a while before people started arriving. We delayed the start quite a while, waiting for people to show up. They said there would be 30 to 40 people, but the total was 20. Katya was pretty unhappy about that. It was a good group, though. Most of them were interested. We'd start a whisky, so I'd give a talk and take questions. Then they'd all wander off until called back for the next whisky. It was a social event for lawyers.

I was surprised that when we left there at 10 pm, it was still 60°. It hasn't been that warm at that time of night in weeks. Saturday's weather was almost as warm, and still sunny. I did yard work. I dug up a little more grass out of new the wildflower bed. And I generally tried to think of things to do outside while the weather was good. I discovered the rodents were destroying my flower garden. And that one of my small aspens was broken.

Today it was not quite as warm, but still nice. I tried to get things done outside, but I was having trouble thinking of things. I kept wandering around. I wanted to take care of leaves, but it was too windy. I sat outside for a bit taking photos of flower petals. For those interested, I heard a hawk cry. I don't hear that very often. Pretty soon I saw it's shadow pass over me. It did a few circles over the house. A red-tailed hawk, I think. Didn't have my good camera.

After that I ran around doing some errands. After I got back I realized I was supposed to cut down that broken tree. I got that done before supper. I went out shopping again after that. Then I color-calibrated by monitor, and now it's acting weird. I hope it's back to normal after a reboot.

Tomorrow I have a board meeting for the Scottish club. The first Vice President conducts the meetings (Robert's Rules of Order, and all that), but he's out of town. So is the second Vice President. So is the President and the Past President (who has a seat on the board). That only leaves about a dozen other people. So guess who they called to run the meeting? Yeah, me. Why? The President loves me, I guess, and she thinks I'll do a great job. The VP was all excited when I agreed to do it. He was all "oh that's awesome! Thanks so much!" Like I was supposed to say no? He said he'd send me the agenda. I hope that's still on the way.
