We went hiking today, at Kettle Moraine. The weather was nice - mid to upper 70s, and only a little sun. Our preferred parking lot, by the observation tower was closed due to Covid. I thought that was a little odd. We like it because there's a loop trail there. We went to a different area and did an out-and-back on the Ice Age Trail. Just over five miles. Man, that last quarter mile just about did me in. It was like, the parking lot is on the other side of those trees was the signal for my feet to give out. But over three hours later I'm still beat. Of course I was carrying rocks for the last bit. I'd grabbed a few from a pile left when farmers cleared the land, a century ago. One of them has moss on it. They're garden decorations.
It was a nice hike. We passed some people. A few small groups or pairs, a few single hikers, and one group of Boy Scouts.
