Cindy and I attended my family reunion.

Every year it gets smaller. There were only about 45 people there, including the little kids. As the old folks become fewer, their kids become less and less interested.

This year we met in a little firehouse in a little town called Metemora (they pulled the three little trucks out of the firehouse for us). It's an old-timey tourist town. It has a canal, with a barge and horses, and really old buildings with craft shops, and a mill, and ducks and stuff.

Everybody seemed to like Cyn. I was disappointed that uncle Ray bugged her about going to church (he's a preacher). He's never done that to me. I guess he thinks (knows) I'm a lost cause. One of the relatives has some kids who live near Cyn. He said they should have a cookout, and we could all get together.

Grandma is doing well. She says she feels better, since her last stroke, than she has in a while. She wanted me to weed her flower garden (just a narrow strip). I had a little trouble with that request, because there weren't really any flowers in it. I'm not sure it is worth pulling up the weeds just to expose the dirt. It was her birthday when we got there on Saturday. I hadn't thought to tell Cindy (I barely remembered, myself), and she was disappointed that she hadn't known. She wanted to give Grandma something. I kind of wanted to give her a hanging flower basket. I never got around to it (and I had chipped in with mom and sister for a watch). Now I feel bad that I didn't because not only could that have been from Cyn, but it would have made her little patio area that much brighter. :-(
