Last Wednesday, I drove to Chicago to pick up some whisky (110 miles, one way).
Thursday, I went shopping on the south side of Milwaukee, to pick up a flash for my camera.
Friday, I went out to my dad's to help him to a print (25 miles away).
Saturday, we went to a wedding in Pewaukee (35 miles).
Sunday was gaming in Elm Grove (30 miles).

Tonight and tomorrow, I stay home. I have to work on the photos for the wedding that Cindy and I shot on Saturday.

Are the liquor taxes that much lower in IL? I mean, do they make up for fuel use?

Taxes are higher in Illinois. It's kind of like the oleo runs our parents used to do. Binny's liquor stores are the only ones that carry some whiskys that he can't get in Wisconsin.

Thanks, that makes sense.
Oleo runs...blast from the past for sure!

Right. And the liquor/sales taxes and gas are generally cheaper than shipping. Or sometimes faster or more reliable than shipping. And sometimes I make other stops in Chicago, like this time. And sometimes I just stop on my way through to elsewhere.

When we went to Valpo, I made two stops to pick up two of the bottles I needed. If we'd left home earlier, I could have gotten the third. But we didn't, so I had to make this trip.

I forgot about the shipping.
