Back in the end of June, while visiting Chicago, I stopped in a Graceland for a quick visit. Here are a few pics. You can see the other couple dozen here, at Mourning Souls.

The Kroeschell monument is really interesting. The monument is torn asunder, to echo the way the deceased was torn from this world, and grief that remains. I guess. I saw one with that motif last weekend at Forest Home, but this one is amazingly well done.

One of the largest monuments in Graceland, this 1907 construction was to honor piano maker William Kimball.

I am guessing this is not Graceland that was Elvis home since you were in the wrong state. Also, it is not a cemetery. Some of the monuments are amazing.

Right, Graceland Cemetery, in Chicago.

And yes they are!

That first image is indeed creepy but effective. I browsed through the post at Mourning Souls and there is a lot of monumental work there so to speak. I have been to Graceland but decades ago...at that time I felt uneasy in cemeteries and I think I'd like to go again at some point.
