A week ago last wednesday, they installed the granite. The next day was the plumbing, and the shower door that friday. So then they just had the final details to finish. In a discussion we had a while back, she knew how unhappy I was that the project was at a standstill for four weeks, while we waited for the granite. So when they got the glass in, I assumed they'd have the remainder finished within a day or two (Monday, Tuesday). Wednesday morning the contractor showed up when I was just about to leave for work, so I didn't have much time to talk with here, but I pointed out some things that needed taking care of. On Thursday I sent a message about the doors needing adjustment. So a guy showed up on Friday to do that, and take care of one other thing. Friday! Just get this thing over with!
So he did that stuff, and then I asked him to fill the nail holes in the molding and trim. He said they don't normally do that, but sure, no problem. Wha? The holes were really noticeable. So he did that. Then I asked him to caulk around the countertop a little more in one spot, so he did that. He also offered to take the cardboard packaging from the garage. Good. It had been there for over a week. But he didn't take the old toilet from the garage (WTF?).
But it's finally done (except for one thing) and we moved in. We went out and bought new towels and bath mats (bright white).
There's only one thing left to be done. When asked where we wanted the toilet paper holder mounted, we told them we'd wait until the toilet was installed, and then see where the best place was. Someone installed it anyway, and it wasn't a good place. They moved it, leaving holes behind. So they're going to fix it right, and apparently that involves removing the end panel from the vanity. That's not going to happen for a few weeks, and it also involves removing the toilet. So we'll see what happens then.
