I don't think I left the house once on Saturday or Sunday. Not even to get the mail. Maybe I stepped out the back door to refill the birdbath.
Friday night... went to see Willy Porter in Cedarburg. It was a benefit for a group that does advocacy for domestic and sexual abuse. He raised over $100K.
Saturday, Cindy wanted to cook a nice meal. I enjoy that, but we never do it, because it's a lot of work, and then you've eaten it in about ten minutes. We roasted a leg of lamb. It turned out perfectly. We tried making these little balls of mashed potato that you cover with slivered almonds and then fry. They tasted good, but the presentation lacked. They didn't stay round, and didn't coat well, and didn't fry evenly. Also salad and a bottle of wine.
She wanted to take a photo of a romantic candle-lit dinner. After dinner was ready, we changed our clothes and took the photo. Unfortunately, the food was mostly cold by the time we could eat. Fortunately, it still tasted good.

Today was also laid-back. Sat around, read the paper. She gave me a book on Scotch whisky, as a Valentine's present, so I read that a bit. We did yoga in the evening.
So that was nice.

Date: 2015-02-16 04:33 pm (UTC)From:I personally like both accounts equally. I really like the photo, but would like to see more of the painting, but I like the legs and skirt under the table. The lighting and the focus match so well with the painting to set the mood. A different orientation? RECREATE IT!!
*grin*

Date: 2015-02-16 06:26 pm (UTC)From:I would like to try the photo again. It's also focused badly. A big part of Cyn's vision was her foot under the table, but she thought it didn't look so good, so she kinda photoshopped it out. But you can still see the skirt, so that worked well. I don't think either of had thought about the painting.

Date: 2015-02-16 06:31 pm (UTC)From:Anything with fat in it will benefit from chilling (cookies, dumplings, aroncini etc) before frying. The egg flour almond steps seem backward, When doing any kind of eggwash/dip series, it is flour first, then egg (the flour helps the egg stick) then stuff to stick to it.
