I just posted all my photos of our New York trip on Facebook. 53 of them, I think. I got nine likes and one comment. Usually, when I post a bunch of photos, every one of them gets liked. I have one or two people who like about half of everything I post. This time, almost nothing. Weird. I assume nobody saw them.

I don't require praise, exactly, but I guess I'd like to know people enjoyed some of them. But mainly, I'm disappointed nobody saw them.

I didn't see them. I think it's the FB feed, getting tweaked again. I didn't see very much of interest at all, actually...I bet a lot of people are being blocked or just not hitting the algorithm in a way that gets them posted, whatever that takes.

Yeah, probably. I wonder why. I posted a little throwaway thing just before it, that has gotten more likes and comments.

I just went down through my flist there and found quite a few people I haven't seen lately, tapped their profiles to find they have, indeed, been posting, so I "liked" a thing or two, in hopes of training the site to show me them, let FB know I like those people. Dunno if it will work...that feed is a bit of a mystery.

I didn't see them in my newsfeed.

When I first open my FB page I see a few things posted by actual friends but then after that its all Farmville all the time. I have to click on peoples pages to see what people are up to mostly.

I hate it that FB makes me miss stuff I would like to see and they do it ALL the time. I never saw your pics because they never showed up on my feed that I try to keep in simple chronological order but it never works that way...not even when I create special groups of people I really want to see. It makes me mad.

Yesterday was one of those days where I was mostly out and about doing things, never really had time after about 8 am to fiddle around on the internet. :)

If you don't play Farmville, you should probably hide all of those messages.

That will probably help, but it's still no guarantee.

I figured with all of your likes, more people would see them, but it hasn't happened.

I feel stupid whining about Facebook. Everybody knows how horrible it is.

Hm. I was on FB late and checked it this morning, but I didn't catch those pics. I must investigate.

I have a theory that this has to do with the time of night you posted and that it's a weekend. Maybe a particularly busy weekend for some, or they're out having fun, or somehow, like me, they missed it the first time around. (I cannot figure out how I missed the post. I went all the way back through my Timeline just to check. It must have been timing!)

I always love your pics, but I don't always "like" them all. ;)

Is there a way to mass hide all of that garbage? I do NOT play anything there, but cannot get through the game garbage, or invites, or so and so has a friend that you have not friended yet etc.

I frequently go once every two weeks or so , and don't find that anyone on my list has posted anything, only to find later that there were posts by date that I did not get in a timely manner. Once I could click on a persons name and get ONLY the posts that they make, but now I click on the name and I get their friends feed. I know you already know it, but I hate that place.

I was actually there yesterday, but did not see anything.

Every time you see one, click the little button on the upper right of it, and it should give you an option to hide them.

No big deal. You probably saw most of them here on LJ anyway.

I usually post them at that time of night, and the likes and comments start pouring in pretty much immediately.

I find it weird that Facebook's algorithm applies its magic to my post rather than the viewer's feeds.

I had forgotten we were friends there!

FB keeps going to the "trending" posts instead of the "Most Recent". I have to refresh and choose " most recent" several times a day to see everything I missed. It annoyeth betimes.
