A facebook acquaintance posted, "Do we look like we are boozers? Every restaurant tries to put us in the bar and then doesnt just ask but tries to push "adult beverages" on us! I am going to start wearing a sign "WE DON'T DRINK!""

Only teetotalers consider a frequent, "can I get you guys a beer?" as pushing alcoholic beverages on them.

And no, this complaint doesn't make these teetotalers complete morons. Not like the previous complaint was about.

I think the person is just trying to publicize they don't drink. Every restaurant/bar is going to try to sell products to them.

They must be people who quit drinking. I notice a lot of non smokers that used to smoke are waaaay more militant and cranky about the smoking issue. It's the question "Do we look like boozers?" that makes me think this. It's an all or nothing attitude. Drinking an alcoholic drink before does not make a person a boozer. Besides sitting in the bar to wait for your table is probably more pleasant than sitting on those benches in a foyer that is sometimes the alternative.

They could order water, soda, or juice, or coffee. Bars serve them.

Not recovering alcoholics - religious.

Ohhhhhhh ok well then I guess they should wear that "WE DON'T DRINK!" sign at communion and tell the priest/preacher to quit pushing booze. Unless of course they are Methodist or another non drinking religion.

If they're so religiously against drinking, why do they even go to restaurants with bars? yeah, I know, for the food. But if it's a moral thing with them, they should be true to their beliefs.
:P

I think that should file a suit against the restaurant for offering immediate seating in the bar but making others wait up to a HALF HOUR longer to be seated in the dining room... Oh, the huMANity!!!
