We went to see To Kill A Mockingbird at The Rep last night. It was a powerful play. I'm wondering how the movie and the book compare to the play. The book is obviously different, but I'm wondering what kind of an experience it is.

OMG I love that book and the movie's none-too-shabby. I've never seen a stage production.

I figured you'd comment. :-)

I imagine it's similar to the movie, in terms of leaving out everything that isn't absolutely necessary to the story. But the grown-up Scout is an onstage narrator. This filled in a lot of the back story, that had to be left out of the novel.

It really is a different experience to be up close and personal to the characters and story.
