I got my eyes checked. Didn't realize it had been five years. My prescription changed on the near vision, but not on the distance vision. I either mess up the far vision for the sake of the near vision, or get bifocals. I'm not really having trouble with my near vision (as the optometrist said, I have long arms, for reading), so I'm taking the third option - not changing.

Went to my new dentist today. Did the initial paperwork and consultation and got a full set of x-rays. Seems like a decent guy. Has already spoken to me more than my previous dentist has in the last ten years. And explained stuff. I go back next monday for the cleaning, and he'll present some options for a cracking tooth.

My last dentist capped a cracked tooth without showing justification to the insurance company, which cost me money. And I had a little trouble with his artwork on the crowns. He always left them too high. His hygienist was funny. She was always just so gosh darn happy and talkative. She annoyed a lot of people, because she talked like she's talking to a kindergartner. Not the subjects, but her voice. I didn't mind. The receptionist sounded disappointed when I told her I was canceling my appointment because I was switching dentists, but she didn't ask why.

I wonder how long it's been since I had a physical.

There's no excuse for his leaving your crown too high. Dr. Sachs always checks that carefully. I think you're making a wise move in changing dentists. and...explaining is good

Both Robert and I wear bifocals and have for years now. Mine are the invisible ones and I really like them.

I do need an appointment to have mine checked though.

We are in NYC at the Washington Square Hotel. Went out to dinner at Carmines last evening. Wedding in Central Park today. The weather is not too great. I hope it's okay for the event.
*laughing*

So this is your 60 thousand mile check up?

when your distance vision stops changing, it's time for lasik! then you only need readers.

The hygienist I go to is nice to talk to for a few minutes as she's getting ready to work on me, and then, she shuts up and gets to work. The last one talked and talked and talked while she worked. I like the newest one, best.

My eye doctor told me pretty much the same thing (except the long arm thing). Well, I can see near but far things are a little blurry. To fix the far vision, I lose the near vision. I'm not ready for bifocals yet either, even if they are invisible. Besides, I will only be wearing the glasses at home when I'm watching TV in my room (the TV is on the other side of the room), or when I'm driving. In those cases I won't really need my near vision - I can just take the glasses off.

Good luck with the physical!

Well, he always asked me if it was good, and would grind more off if necessary, but I had trouble telling if it was good enough, until I had a chance to try it out for a while. And he always put it in way high in the first place. Seems like he should have been able to do better.

Good luck scheduling the physical, you mean? ;-)

I don't care for the hair cutters talking to me, but I didn't mind this chattery woman. Maybe because she would just talk, and I didn't have to, while the stylists try to make conversation?

That makes sense. I just can't picture me getting it done.

Hehe, no, I meant good luck with the actual physical. I heard they do unpleasant things to guys at those things. ;)

Women's physicals aren't much fun either.
