Wow, was this bad. The storms that came through yesterday, dumped anywhere from four inches to eight inches of rain, most of it within an hour. The city just can't handle that. The airport finally opened one runway mid-afternoon today. It was fully open some time in the evening. I saw video of them using their snowblower trucks to throw the water off the runways.

The Escalade (as of 5:45 pm) was still running, while at the bottom of the sinkhole. story Several houses in one neighborhood had somewhat of a sinkhole destroy their foundations. The cinderblock walls tumbled in. One house is reported to be teetering precariously on what's left of its foundation. Another has natural gas in its basement. story

Right now, the ground is saturated, and the sewer system is out of capacity. I see on the radar that there's another heavy duty line of storms heading for the city. It looks bad. Much of south-central Minnesota has rain right now. Let's hope that goes to the north of us.

There's a lot of stunned folks in those pictures there. That's never good. How do you FIX a washed-out-from-underneath house?

I'm not surprised there's no one to go turn off the car down in that unstable situation. Maybe all the experts are down in the gulf right now?

oh sugar!

That doesn't look good. I hope the weather blows way, way north of you.

*hugs*

I saw this on the news. Milwaukee really got hit and I feel for the people with their houses! How in the world do you fix the sink hole basement issue?

Huge storm coming your way that we got around 3am. Hopefully it will miss you.

I cannot believe they haven't gotten that damn car out of the sink hole yet.
That school's got some really tight doors.

Oh, oh...........I have been watching on the news about all your storms. We've had a few here in Michigan too, but the worst of it so far has been going around us. Take care up there, don't want your party to get washed out!!!!!

So far it's sunny, breezy, and high 70's here. The yard is squishy in a lot of places, though.
